On March 24th, 2018 it was my honor to perform Marylou and Genesis’ ceremony. In attendance were 80 of their closest friends and family.
The first indication this ceremony was going to be FUN is a table set up with shots of tequila with a sign that said, “Take a Shot . . . And Take a Seat!!”
Their ceremony had so many special moments. Marylou was the first to say her vows. By the time it was Genesis’ turn both were crying. Next was a prayer to bless their rings, followed by the ring exchange.
Since it was very important that their 3 children be part of their ceremony, a sand ceremony was included. There were 5 different colors of sand. Each took turns pouring their color into a heart-shaped keepsake vase.
The following is an excerpt from their sand ceremony.
“The individual containers represent their lives before today. As the containers are poured into the keepsake vase, the individual containers of sand will no longer exist. The keepsake vase represents the blending of their lives, as well as their hopes, dreams, ideals and future plans as a family.”
After the ceremony was over, I took this photo of a family moment.
